It discovered me. The bug bit me. The 10-episode photographic reality TV show aired on M-Net in place of Idols and was nominated for a SAFTA award in the best reality TV category.

Jacques Bezuidenhout – Junior Copywriter

Jacques Bezuidenhout – Junior Copywriter

What is your nickname?
Jah_kwez

What influenced you to choose advertising as a career?
I was introduced to our industry at a very young age. While my mom was grinding on media budgets over the weekends, I hopped along to build forts under creative boardroom tables and play cowboys and "spooks" in the passages of the agency. This was my playground of imagination and it got me hooked! The people, the stories, the experiences, the hard work and most importantly, the freedom to use your imagination every single day. Through the years I found that this profession also provides the opportunity for continued growth. Today I am still growing my imagination and learning something new each day, whether it be from brands, clients or from the agency cool kids I work with.

If you had a super power, what would it be and why?
The power to provide everyone with vivid imaginations so that everyone can see the potential that lies in others AND our country.

We went on winning a national acapella competition which landed us gigs with Lira, a performance on Come Dine with me SA and Clash of the choirs, a performance in the UK and recording an album with The Parlotones. Don't ask me to sing, unless you'll drop the beat and beatbox :)
